We used to have a guy out in East Oakland who had a little cart he sold tamales from. They were so good that it was a scramble to get to him with a few dollars whenever I heard him come around. I guess I must like tamales better than ice cream, or wine, for that matter...

The Oakland Coliseum parking lot had (has, surely) hot dog vendors grilling bacon-wrapped dogs. I would smell them long before finding them.
